Extra Crispy Baked Chicken Wings with Blue Cheese Dip
Serves 4-6 people as an appetizer
Your friends and family will swear they are fried but only you will know that they are BAKED! These ultra-crispy crunchy wings have become an appetizer staple and a favorite of my family and friends this summer. They are super easy and can be prepped in 5 minutes, leaving you more time to get everything else together for entertaining. I prefer them with just this dry rub and serving with a big bowl of blue cheese dip but you can always toss them in your favorite sauce before serving!
Wing Ingredients
2 pounds of wings
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp ground mustard powder
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground paprika
2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 1/2 Tablespoons Baking powder
Blue Cheese Ingredients
1 1/2 cups crumbled blue cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 Tablespoon milk
1 1/2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/8 tsp pepper
salt to taste
1 Tablespoon chives, chopped
Wing Directions
Preheat oven to 425, line a baking sheet with foil and topped with parchment paper (helps for easier clean up and less stickage). Spray with non-stick spray and set aside.
Remove wings from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. In a small bowl, mix together all the seasoning ingredients, except the oil, until combined.
In a large bowl, toss the wings with vegetable oil and seasoning until evenly coated. Place the wings onto baking sheet with even spacing as to not crowd the tray.
Place in the oven for 45 minutes, remove and turn the wings and bake for an additional 20 minutes until skin is crispy. Serve with slices of lemon, celery, carrots and blue cheese dip!
Blue Cheese Dip Directions
In a medium bowl, add all ingredients for Blue Cheese Dip and mix until fully combined. Place in the fridge for the flavors to meld together and remove when you are ready to serve! (You can add more milk to thin out the dip into more of a dressing consistency if you would like!)
